What is SCUML?
SCUML is the Special Control Unit against Money Laundering, a unit of the EFCC. It registers and supervises Designated Non-Financial Businesses and Professions (DNFBPs) under the Money Laundering (Prevention and Prohibition) Act 2022. The SCUML certificate proves your business is registered with it.
Who needs SCUML registration?

Which documents do I need for SCUML?

Can I register for SCUML online?
Yes, applications are submitted on the SCUML portal (scumlportal.efcc.gov.ng). We file on your behalf and manage the process from anywhere in Nigeria.
Do I need a TIN before SCUML?
Yes. SCUML requires your TIN certificate. If you don’t have one yet, we register it first. TIN registration.
Does a SCUML certificate expire?
The certificate itself doesn’t have an expiry date, but SCUML requires DNFBPs to keep records and file reports (e.g. cash transaction reports) and to update SCUML if the business details change.
